Thu, 28 Jan 2010

Legal and General have increased the limits on their immediate life insurance cover and term assurance with critical illness protection. The maximum sum assured will now be boosted to 3 million pounds for life insurance cover, up on 2 million pounds previously. Other insurance policies also saw their limits boosted.

Legal and General also announced that they would offer critical illness insurance for applications taken out for mortgage protection or personal loan protection. The company were keen to point out that immediate insurance cover provides instant support for policyholders.

Legal and General expert Russ Whitworth reportedly commented: "This tends to be for high net worth and business applications while we gather the necessary evidence. For example, by upping the maximum levels of immediate cover that we are prepared to give, we are being more generous and more competitive."
