As a special news release on No Smoking Day, insurance company Norwich Union have further highlighted advice that giving up smoking could cut life insurance premiums . Those people that manage to stop smoking for a year and continue not to smoke are classed as non-smokers in the eyes of insurance companies .
Head of protection at Norwich Union, Louise Colley, reportedly commented: "People who smoke have an increased risk of heart disease, breathing disorders and certain cancers, to name but a few illnesses, which is why non-smokers often pay significantly less for life insurance and critical illness policies . So bearing in mind both the health and monetary benefits, No Smoking Day could be the perfect day to stop."
Norwich Union showed just how much money non-smokers could save over the life of their insurance policy . A variety of life insurance companies and comparison engines have recently pointed out the potential savings possible through giving up smoking.
