Insurance company Bright Grey has launched a new product aimed at those consumers who buy insurance policies online without taking professional advice. The product, called Lifestyle Protection, is available through an intermediary site called theidol.com.
The insurance cover provides life insurance cover and life or critical illness cover, providing fast service and online acceptance, without the need for further medical evidence.
A Bright Grey spokesman reportedly commented: "We need to recognise that a certain segment of the population are using the internet to buy protection without professional advice. This group chooses the internet-only approach to buy and would not look to buy in any other way. Until now there hasn't been a product that offers Life or Critical Illness Cover specifically tailored to this group of people, where they can complete the whole process online. The price and the fact that it is a simple product is an important combination for online consumers and one that will encourage more people to buy insurance ."
