Life insurance smoking saving essential in the crunch

Thu, 12 Mar 2009

As many as 1.2 million people are thought to have tried to give up smoking yesterday, on No Smoking Day . The benefits of quitting are obvious – better health, fatter wallet and cheaper life insurance premiums .

A variety of life insurance companies have gone on record in the last week as saying that stopping smoking and being classified as a non-smoker could slash the cost of life insurance policies .

Smokers spend thousands of pounds each year on their habit, damaging their health and lowering quality of life. Quitting smoking at any age is seen as a good idea, with insurance companies making it clear that cutting premiums is very possible once someone has given up for a year or more.
