Following a row about a life insurance policy, a pensioner travelled 130 miles to her life insurance company offices and refused to leave for three days. Life insurance company Norwich Union were confronted by Dorothy Green, 79, who aimed to speak directly chief executive of the company, Mark Hodges about plans to halve her life insurance payout .
Mrs Green travelled from Cambridgeshire to York to argue her case face to face, and then staged a three day protest to mark her plight. Officers eventually took her to a police station due to concerns over her welfare, but her persistence paid off and the company agreed to honour the life insurance policy .
Mrs Green reportedly commented: "I was very frightened to do it but I thought I must do something about it. They said there was a misunderstanding with the terms on the original contract but they are now going to give me a new contract on the terms I thought I had originally."
