Major insurance company AXA is planning to lower critical illness insurance premiums this week, in line with policy exclusions.
The insurer follows similar moves by Bupa and Fortis, who have also lowered premiums. Insurance companies have come to the realisation that customers may be put off critical illness insurance if they have to pay full price despite some conditions being excluded.
Insurance experts predict that other insurance companies will follow suit, but some claim to see no reason why the cost of insurance cover should be reduced. Critical illness insurance has faced a controversial past, and consumers are justifiably wary when it comes to this type of insurance policy.
In other life insurance news, India predict a slump of 10 per cent in their life insurance sector.
