According to recent research conducted by Barclays Financial Planning, an alarming percentage of British people do not have life insurance cover .
Some 45 per cent of people between the ages of 35 and 54 do not have any type of life insurance cover, and once this is spread between people of all ages the figure climbs to 52 per cent.
Furthermore, the study found that 47 per cent of consumers have no protective insurance . The head of customer and proposition for Barclays Financial Planning, Alison Tattersall, reportedly commented:
"People must consider the financial consequences of what would happen if they were unable to work, or their dependents' situation if they died, it would be far worse than any concerns they currently have over struggling to meet their outgoings."
