Life insurance market in UK will stay stable

Thu, 27 Mar 2008

According to reports in the global life insurance news, experts around the world are predicting that the UK life insurance market will stay stable in the near future, despite turmoil in the wider financial markets.

According to Fitch Ratings, the UK life insurance sector will stay steady. Fitch did mention the pervasive influence of economic downturns on consumer confidence levels, and the influence that this could have on insurance companies .

However, all signs are that UK life insurance companies remain strong despite the credit crunch, with strong net growth and little in the way of exposed risk. Fitch were reported in the news as commenting: "Despite the credit crunch, sales remained strong in the second half of 2007."

In other life insurance news this week, British people were criticised for being in denial over their need to protect themselves with insurance products such as life insurance and critical illness insurance .
