According to a recent Friends Provident study, many fathers in the UK do not have adequate life insurance cover to protect their children financially, in the event of their death.
The research indicates that fathers were more likely to spend on latest technology rather than on important insurance products such as life insurance . Furthermore, some one in three said their children would not be covered by their life insurance, or lack of it.
The head of public relations at Friends Provident, Peter Timberlake, reportedly commented: "Many [fathers] are focusing on the here-and-now, rather than thinking about tomorrow. As men continue to have children later in life, they need to ensure that they have the finances in place in order to stay cool for longer and to maintain the standard of living for them and their children regardless of what the future holds."
