New insurance fraud bureau

Tue, 29 Jan 2008

According to new reports from the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA), a new Insurance Fraud Bureau has been put in place to tidy up the false claims industry. For honest health insurance, life insurance and other insurance customers the news is good, as a cleaner industry means cheaper premiums.

A technical and corporate affairs executive at Biba, Graeme Trudgill, commented that the Insurance Fraud Bureau will be active in putting an end to false claims . Trudgill reportedly commented: "The insurance industry pays out over £1 billion a year in fraudulent claims and it is a big worry."

The Insurance Fraud Bureau will work across a variety of insurance disciplines, including life insurance and private medical insurance, to bring claims figures down.
