Critical illness insurance premiums also falling

Thu, 03 Jan 2008

The Lifesearch study reported on yesterday indicated that life insurance premiums are falling throughout the UK, with a fiercely competitive life insurance sector driving premiums down by as much as 40 per cent in the last five year period. Lifesearch went further, by saying that the cost of critical illness insurance is also falling, and advised policyholders that they could save thousands of pounds by switching their life insurance policy .

A Lifesearch policy adviser, Matt Morris, reportedly commented: "However, it is important to remember that price should not be the only consideration when choosing a protection product and customers should look at the policy that offers the best value for money . This means looking at the product which most suits individual circumstances and offers additional benefits."

Despite falling life insurance and critical illness insurance, income protection insurance remains static in price. Cheaper premiums for every insurance policy depend on age and health, but many insurance policyholders are paying way over the odds.
