New Fortis life insurance business

Fortis, who currently only sell general insurance in the UK, have increased their product range to include life insurance . The new division will be headed by an insurance industry professional, Martin Werth.

Fortis are yet to reveal details of their new product range. They were reported in the life insurance news as commenting: "A number of opportunities have been identified building on successful general insurance business here in the UK."

Life insurance in the UK is extremely competitive, with established businesses constantly reviewing their strategies to keep prices down. Standard Life, once one of the bastions of UK life insurance, have closed down their UK life insurance arm.
