Life insurance over the counter

Recent reports indicate that the Post Office will start to over customers over the age of 50 life insurance over the counter from its thousands of outlets around the UK.

Post Office, who operate a successful financial services and insurance division, already sell a variety of products over the counter. These include travel insurance, but this most recent news marks the first time the company will sell life cover over the counter.

The head of protection at the Post Office, Duncan Caesar-Gordon, reportedly commented: "In a time of such uncertainty people need peace of mind more than ever, which is why we are now offering instant protection over the counter."

The package will be called Over-50s Life Cover .
