Giant insurance company Norwich Union have announced that they are reuniting old customers with some £10 million of forgotten life insurance and pension policies . The insurer last year announced that they would return some £40 million in unclaimed assets to their customers. Assets Reunited, the tracing agency, are assisting with the process.
Cathryn Riley of Norwich Union was reported as commenting: "We are currently returning over a million pounds a month to our customers – something that we believe is genuinely making a positive difference to people's lives, and that's a brilliant start."
She reportedly continued: "The issue of unclaimed assets affects the whole industry and it's not going to go away on its own. We are taking decisive steps to address the matter and we encourage the rest of the industry to follow our lead."
