According to research earlier this month by the Post Office, the average adult in the UK values their life at over £350,000. However, a variety of reports into the state of life insurance in the UK indicate that as many as 75 per cent of adults do not have a life insurance policy .
According to the study, the valuation was partially dependant on property price. For instance, those in London tended to value themselves higher than those in some less valuable areas. Those adults who have already reached retirement age placed the greatest value on their life.
Scaling the figures up to a nationwide level, the PO estimates that 36 million adults do not have life insurance . Some 25 per cent claim to not be able to afford it, despite the face that life insurance is at its cheapest level in years.
