Life insurance more popular in Armed Forces

Thu, 17 Apr 2008

According to experts in the life insurance industry, more and more British soldiers are choosing life insurance cover, despite the promise of compensation from the Ministry of Defence.

Thousands of soldiers and other members of the Armed Forces who are actively serving in Iraq and Afghanistan are choosing life insurance and private accident cover, and the number is climbing all the time.

Experts believe that this is an attempt by women and men in the services to increase MOD compensation pay-outs . Life insurance policies for people in the armed forces can be particularly expensive, with annual premiums extending to £1,000 a year or more.
