Life insurance brand will go

Wed, 30 Apr 2008

Reports in the financial news indicate that brand name Norwich Union, synonymous with British insurance for many years, will be scrapped. The parent company, Aviva, will now run the UK insurance company under their name.

The plan behind the change is to increase new business partners, attract fresh staff and aid overseas sales. Norwich Union is the largest general insurance company in the UK, and a major player in the life insurance market.

Aviva top dogs made it clear that scrapping the name should not affect sales . Norwich Union as a brand has been retained to date, and although it remains a household name in the UK will shortly be scrapped. Aviva have to consider European, Asian and American businesses, and consequently wish to promote the Aviva brand throughout the world.
