Life insurance from the Post Office

Tue, 18 Sep 2007

The Post Office, who have now fully diversified into being a financial services provider, are extending their range and offering a life insurance plan.

The life insurance policy will be offered to over 50s, with total guarantee of acceptance for every person who applies. The PO is clear that premiums will vary depending on a variety of individual factors, and will range from around £7 to a maximum of £50.

After the customer makes their third monthly payment on their life insurance, the PO will provide them with a box of wine, a digital camera, or a Freeview box.

The PO Director of Insurance, Phil Ashkuri, reportedly commented: "This is the first of a suite of products the Post Office is launching into the life market. Our Over 50s cover is easy to understand and apply for, with guaranteed acceptance. We also offer our customers more comprehensive cover than some of the leading plans on the market by paying out the full sum assured after just 12 months. With the Post Office life insurance deal, a 65-year-old female investing £20 per month would have an assured sum of £4,656 - over £300 more than the assured sums for the same contributions with AXA Sun Life and LV= respectively."
