Falling life insurance premiums

Thu, 15 Nov 2007

Fresh research by independent financial advisory service LifeSearch indicates that life insurance policies fell by 10 per cent between March and September, and are now sitting at their lowest level for several years.

The research indicated that premiums have been driven down by an increasingly competitive life insurance market. It appears online facilities are also being used, as consumers shop around for the best quote possible, and don’t necessarily choose a high street or prominent provider.

The financial adviser also confirmed warnings that stopping smoking could result in greatly decreased life insurance premiums . Age can also make premiums cheaper, as can switching form one life insurance provider to another. LifeSearch also made it clear that eating healthily and exercising regularly could earn many consumers discounts on their life insurance policies.

Saving money is one thing, LifeSearch warned, but making sure that the correct level of life insurance cover for your individual circumstances is in place is more important.
