Stopping smoking should be a priority for all those people who are still addicted. Even if you are not convinced by the risk to health, and the cost of all those packs, an added incentive to quit should come from the life insurance sector. Quitting fags could cut down your life insurance premium, saving you money on premiums.
With the 24th Annual No-smoking Day scheduled for the 14th March, and the initialisation of a nationwide smoking ban in enclosed public spaces throughout the UK for this July, quitting now and saving money on your life insurance could only be a good idea.
The life insurance and protection group Life Search recently indicated that the majority of insurance companies consider ex-smokers to be non-smokers after only a year of quitting. The head of protection strategy at the firm, Kevin Carr, reportedly said:
"Just about everyone realises the potential health benefits of giving up smoking and most appreciate the direct financial saving, but not many people realise how much they could save on their life insurance as well."
