Life insurance policies vary enormously

Fri, 22 Jun 2007

According to a recent life insurance index by Sainsbury’s Bank, those who choose their life insurance policy with top UK insurance companies could be paying two thirds over the odds, compared to those who have shopped around and chose more competitive policies.

The life insurance index shows that those with competitively priced life assurance policies could be paying as much as 66.24 per cent under that paid by Brits with expensive insurance policies .

The cost of life insurance is falling, but according to the data that variety in prices is enormous. The life insurance manager at Sainsbury’s Bank, Claire Moyles, reportedly commented:

"Although we appreciate our index is not indicative of the life insurance market as a whole, we believe it should serve as a useful reminder to people of the need to shop around."
