The coveted Life Insurer of the Year Award, presented at the British Insurance Awards every year, has been won once again by insurance company Legal and General . Legal and General offer a variety of popular and successful insurance policies to UK consumers.

The awards were held at the Royal Albert Hall on July 4th, giving a chance for the insurance industry to nominate its leading lights. Gary Burchett, the managing director of housing at Legal and General reportedly commented: "The life insurance industry continues to be very competitive and we certainly cannot rest on our laurels." That said, L&G have walked away with the award eight out of the last ten years.

Other awards won included Co-operative Insurance, who scooped the Corporate and Social Responsibility Project of the Year Award.
