One independent financial adviser has joined the core of voices urging consumers to be honest when it comes to applying for a life insurance policy. The news comes amidst claims that the cost of life insurance is falling.
The director of the insurance website LifeDirector, Kieran Platt, made it clear that hiding any elements of past or lifestyle was very risky. For instance, a high-risk hobby that is glossed over in an application form could invalidate any future claims.
Mr Platt reportedly commented: "The insurance company won't pay your claim if they found out you lied to them when you filled the form in. But whatever the situation is when you apply for your policy, you must be totally honest then, otherwise you may invalidate your claim ."
