Standard Life offering life insurance for climbers

Standard Life, the popular and notorious life insurance company, have entered into a small-scale bespoke agreement with a company called Summit Financial Services . The market they are looking for? Life insurance for climbers in the Lake District and throughout the UK.

Summit are already specialists in arranging life cover, critical illness cover and also income protection cover for climber, mountaineers and hill walkers throughout the UK. Standard Life has developed a special form of underwriting allowing climbers to be accepted on normal terms for life insurance .

The protection marketing manager of Standard Life Assurance reportedly said: "Climbers have had problems in the past securing competitive life insurance in the UK. The single-tie with Summit has enabled us to fully understand the risks involved in insuring this group of customers. Recognising that climbers have special requirements which can be treated sensibly from an underwriting perspective means we can offer standard terms and good value cover."

Furthermore, Standard Life and Summit FS will offer a donation to Community Action Nepal for every policy taken out.
