Under 50 per cent shop around for life insurance

Tue, 27 Feb 2007

New figures recently published indicate that consumers are far sharper than when shopping for home appliances than they are when choosing their life insurance . The Financial Services Authority uncovered the worrying trend whilst developing a checklist of questions to help people when shopping for insurance .

The reasons given include the majority who simply disliked shopping for insurance (69 per cent), and over half who found it too complicated to compare insurance products. The FSA website, designed to cut through the jargon and confusion, offers impartial advice. www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk lays it down clearly for those seeking insurance.

Insurance provides valuable protection, and life insurance should be a major consideration for anyone with a family. Being aware of what you need insurance for and what you are covered for would give consumers a head start, according to the FSA. Shopping around for life insurance remains the key to the best deal.
